Children's Church 10/11 am Mass Year Round

Children's Church is available to al 2-4 year old children during the Liturgy of the Word at the second Mass on Sunday morning (10 or 11 am).

Before Mass begins they are brought down to the nursery room by a parent and are lead in activities based on the days' Gospel.

The volunteers are one leader that is an adult or Confirmed teen and 1 or 2 teen volunteers as aides.

Upon drop off parents designate on the sign in form what section of the church they are sitting so when they are brought up during the offertory volunteers can easily find the child's parent.

Volunteer Leaders are trained in how to run the Children's "church time" and are also trained in "Protecting God's Children". Diapers and feedings or snacks are not a part of this time.

Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School is held in the month of June and is a shared responsibility between Sacred Heart, St. Andrew and St. Mary's parishes.

Due to availability, playground area and building set-up, it is held at St. Andrew's School in Rock Falls. Any 4th - 8th grader student is welcome to attend. It is held in the evenings Sunday through Thursday from 5:30pm - 8:30pm. and includes dinner.

Children are led through stations which include scripture, social justice, catholic teachings, games, craft and music.

Registration begins in May for this event. Adult volunteers are trained in Protecting God's Children. Teen volunteers are also welcome.

The committee begins planning in January, volunteers are always welcome to join in planning!
